Students in 7th and 8th grade who demonstrate leadership skills and stellar citizenship, possess strong moral character, engage in service to others, and maintain a 93% average or better in all core subjects are eligible to apply for NJHS.

Students in 5th-8th grades are eligible to join patrols. They are responsible for ensuring carpool procedures are followed and students remain safe while on campus. 5th grade manages the morning carpool while middle school students handle after-school pick-up.

Student Council offers leadership opportunities for students in grades 4th-8th. Members represent the student body and work together to communicate concerns and make suggestions to the school's administration. They also encourage school spirit and participate in service projects throughout the year.

Open to interested 8th grade students, the yearbook committee is responsible for publishing the IHM yearbook each year.  The students are the creators, designers, photographers, artists, writers and layout experts of the entire publication, under the guidance of staff members.

Each year our Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in a Dinner Theater production - either on the stage, behind the stage, in production, direction and choreography, or as chefs and wait staff for the evening shows.

The IHM Band Program gives students the opportunity to learn an instrument, develop their musical skills, and experience the excitement of making music with others!

Beginning Band – 5th Grade Beginning Band is incorporated into our regular 5th-grade music classes. Students have the opportunity to learn flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, or percussion while developing skills in music reading, rhythm, proper playing technique, and ensemble performance.

Advanced Band – Middle School students with previous band experience have the opportunity to continue developing their skills through Advanced Band. Students work on more challenging music, strengthen their individual playing, and gain experience performing as an ensemble.
Through band, students build confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and musicianship while discovering the joy of making music together!

The IHM Choir gives students in 2nd through 5th grade an opportunity to grow their love of singing and experience the joy of making music together.

The choir meets after school and explores a variety of musical styles and repertoire. Through rehearsals and performances, students develop healthy singing habits, strengthen their musical skills, learn to sing as part of an ensemble, and build confidence as young musicians and performers.

Our goal is to provide students with a fun and encouraging environment where they can
develop their voices, grow in musicianship, and experience the excitement of performing
together.

Whether students already love to sing or are just beginning to discover their musical abilities, all are welcome to come make a joyful sound with the IHM Choir!

The IHM Praise Team gives middle school students the opportunity to use their musical gifts to serve God and lead our school community in worship through music.

Praise Team members rehearse and prepare the music for our school Masses. Students serve in a variety of musical roles, including vocal leaders, pianists, and guitarists, working together to help lead our congregation in prayer and song.

Praise Team is a music ministry. Students grow in musicianship, confidence, leadership, and faith as they learn that their talents can be used in service to others and, most importantly, to glorify God.

Through the Praise Team, our students experience firsthand that music is not simply something
we perform—it is a beautiful way to pray, praise, and worship together.
